Description of the Service Centre
The facility is tailored for biological evaluation of cell function, routinely determining cytotoxic and cytoprotective activities of synthetic and natural compounds, in multiple cell models, including immortalized and primary cultures and stem cells, with implemented capability of cell function assays up to 96 and 384-well format.

This service centre provides biological evaluation of cell function, routinely determining the role of transgenes and cytotoxic and cytoprotective activities of synthetic and natural extracts and compounds isolated from multiple sources (bacteria, plant, sponge, fungi, etc), in multiple cell models, including immortalized human, monkey, rat, and mouse cells, as well as in primary cultures of hepatocytes and brain cells from rat and mouse. Evaluation of celullar and subcellular molecular events is also carried out in close connection with the Cell Biology Laboratory.
