Spectrometry / Crystallography

Description of the Service Centre

The mass spectrometry laboratory was created in 2008 and is located at iMed.UL, Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa. The equipment was financed by project REDE/1518/REM/2005 and is included in the group of equipment from the National Mass Spectrometry Network. This equipment consists of a liquid chromatograph and a mass spectrometer (a triple quadrupole) equipped with two ion sources (electrospray and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization), suitable for the identification and...

The Mass spectrometer available is a Triple Quadrupole mass spectrometer (Micromass Quattro Micro API, Waters) equipped with as ESI and APCI ion sources. The service is available for users on a "do-it-yourself” basis (self-service), for long term studies; however, a initial training period is required. A technician is also available (full-service). Depending on the use (direct infusion or analysis by LC-MS/MS) the training may tak one or three days.
