Slides Digitalization Unit  -  IPATIMUP
The Slides Digitalization Unit (UDL) aims to convert histological and cytological glass slides into high-quality and high-resolution digital slides. The UDL provides as well the chance to storage those images in an appropriate server.
Microscopy Unit  -  Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology
The Microscopy Unit, at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (MICC-CNC), is a centralized facility where users receive the support required to carry out conventional and advanced imaging techniques, based on Light Microscopy. The unit has combined resources to provide state-of-the-art equipment that is open to all researchers. We offer the same services to academic investigators or companies.
Microscopy Shared Technical Facility (MicroSTF)  -  Life and Health Science Research Institute (ICVS)
MicroSTF coordinates the microscopy equipment of the ICVS and offers confocal and laser microdissection services to industry and academia. The MicroSTF team is composed of a specialized lab technician and is equipped with several conventional light and fluorescence microscopes, plus confocal, laser microdissection and stereology microscopes.
Advanced Light Microscopy  -  IBMC - Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology
The Advance Light Microscopy (ALM) is an open access scientific core facility of IBMC dedicated to state-of the-art optical microscopy applications for biosciences. Multidimensional (6D) imaging of cells and tissues, high speed live cell microscopy, molecular analysis techniques (FRAP, FRET) and in vivo microscopy are some of the applications available to researchers
Histology and Electron Microscopy Service  -  IBMC - Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology
This Core Research Facility is centered on Transmission Electronic Microscopy and Optical Microscopy with the ancillary equipment. Provides both the equipment and technical support to researchers needing high level optical and TEM to tackle studies either of cell or material sciences. Besides the instruction of researchers the Facility also offers training courses as well as guided visits to high school students. Facility is engaged on workshops or exhibitions for the public organized by IBMC.
Laboratory of Microscopic and Ultramicroscopic Imagiology (LIMU)  -  Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto
Assay Development Unit  -  BIOALVO SA
BIOALVO developed a proprietary bioactive discovery technology based on the use of yeast as a model organism–Global Platform Screening for Drug Discovery (GPS D2). This technology is extremely flexible and customizable. Depending on the desired activity, new assays can be developed for the identification of new ingredients/molecules with proven potency and safety.BIOALVO has already implemented assays for a wide range of markets, such as cosmetic, pharmaceutical, nutrition and household products
Cell Biology  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
This facility is dedicated to the analysis of gene expression at DNA, RNA and protein level, routinely performing a multitude of biochemical and molecular biology techniques using standard equipment for electrophoresis, western blot, northern bot, as well absorbance plate reader, and gel, membrane and X-ray film imaging (Chemidoc MP and XRS; Bio-Rad).
Cell Function  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
The facility is tailored for biological evaluation of cell function, routinely determining cytotoxic and cytoprotective activities of synthetic and natural compounds, in multiple cell models, including immortalized and primary cultures and stem cells, with implemented capability of cell function assays up to 96 and 384-well format.
Laboratory for High-Resolution Cellular Bio-Imaging  -  Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra
The high resolution cellular bio-imaging laboratory is a technological platform managed by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC). It is part of the National Network of Electron Microscopy (Pole of the University of Coimbra - RNME) and the only technological infrastructure of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), in the center of Portugal, specially dedicated to the Health Sciences field.
Electron Microscopy  -  Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência
The Electron Microscopy Facility is part of the shared facilities at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Oeiras, Portugal. The facility provides centralized, high-quality room temperature transmission electron microscopy techniques and resources for all researchers at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência and within the Portuguese Research Community. Capabilities include conventional and cryo sample preservation, room temperature and cryo-sectioning and room temperature TEM.
