Radioactivity  -  IBMC - Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology
Management of the Radioactivity Facilities: improve the safety of workers handling radioactivity, maintain a safe disposal of radioactive wastes and provide mensal dosimetry. Everyone starting to work with radioactivity must undergo a Radiation Safety training session and require a dosimeter. All rooms and Gammacell Irradiator have a valid license given by DGS.
Radioisotope Unit  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
The Radioisotope Unit (gamma and beta emission) at Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa (FFUL) is located in Edifício F, Campus Lumiar. The radioactivity facility is an infrastructure built specifically for this purpose and is essential for research and development activities in iMed.UL, including research in partnership with industry.
Natural Radioactivity  -  Laboratory of Natural Radioactivity, Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra
Scientific development and transfer of knowledge regarding sustainable practices to preserve environmental health, in the scientific domains of Medical Geology - Natural Radioactivity - indoor and soil radon gas concentrations, testing for radioactive parameters in waters, assessing radon gas retention ability as well as other radiological parameters in building materials, both natural and man-made; assessing the proportion of the bio(logical) component in fuel; carbon-14 dating.
