Solid State Characterization  -  Hovione FarmaCiencia SA
Solid state chemistry in its broadest manifestation involves using the crystal structure and solid state analytical information to explain solid-state properties, which is crucial to develop new drugs. At Hovione, the mission of the group is to collaborate with customers in the field of solid state, particularly in the characterization of solid phases of raw materials to finished products, from API to drug products in all stages of development and production. Innovation is continuously promoted.
Analytical Service Unit (ASU)  -  iBET - Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica
ASU combines several services including studies on candidate pharmaceutical products (GMP), as well as analytical development, method validation and testing of chemicals and biologicals for the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industry and academia. ASU includes expertises divided by three laboratories: Analytical Lab, Mass Spectrometry Lab (iBET acess through ITQB which is one of the institutions in the National Network for Mass spectometry) and Microbiology and Bioassays Lab.
Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry  -  IPATIMUP
IPATIMUP Proteomics Unit provides access to the analysis of different kind of molecules by MALDI mass spectrometry. The Unit is specially focused in the analysis of protein samples from solutions, bands or protein spots from 1D or 2D electrophoresis gels.
Protein Production and Purification Unit  -  IBMC - Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology
The Protein Production and Purification Unit (UP3) provides access to state-of-the-art equipment for the expression, purification and biochemical/biophysical analysis of recombinant proteins. This facility provides both scientific and technical expertise, actively participating in the establishment of interdisciplinary research and networking activities involving internal and external research groups.
Bloco Instrumental (BI)  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
The BI (Bloco Instrumental) is an analytical laboratory located at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. BI provides services on development and implementation of different analytical methods, for the academia or external institutions. It was designed to support the pharmaceutical industry, but it also supports food, cosmetics and chemical industries as well as environmental control.
Mass Spectrometry  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
The mass spectrometry laboratory was created in 2008 and is located at iMed.UL, Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa. The equipment was financed by project REDE/1518/REM/2005 and is included in the group of equipment from the National Mass Spectrometry Network. This equipment consists of a liquid chromatograph and a mass spectrometer (a triple quadrupole) equipped with two ion sources (electrospray and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization), suitable for the identification and...
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance  -  iMed.ULisboa/ FFULisboa Research Institute for Medicines/ Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa
The NMR facility is equipped with a NMR Spectrometer (Bruker Avance 400). It promotes the use of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the areas of structure-based drug design, including structure characterization, fragment-based drug design, metabolomics and dynamic host-guest interactions. These activities are part of our strategic interests in thematic areas of drug discovery, drug design and drug development.
