Short abstract and comments
The development of dry powder inhalers (DPIs). These are essentially plastic devices designed to efficiently and effectively deliver formulated powder medication to the target airways of patients following inhalation. The device should be simple and easy to use by the patient and also be capable of consistently delivering the target dose. Components of the project are device design, prototype testing, production of molded devices and development testing, patient usability studies, process scale up and validation.
Potential uses/indications
Pulmonary delivery of formulations to treat local airways diseases such as asthma or even to deliver drugs systemically when oral route is not suitable.
