Brief description
Created in 2002 on the initiative of Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) and the University of Coimbra, IPN Incubadora - Associação para o Desenvolvimento de Actividades de Incubação de Ideias e Empresas, is a private, non-profit institution.At IPN-Incubator companies have, in the first years of life, conditions that promote access to scientific and technological system and a wide range of services facilitating the start-up and entering the market process, through training in technical and management areas and contact with national and international markets. The Incubator provides support for the early stage of new innovative, technology based or advanced services, business projects. Projects with priority are spin-offs arising from the University of Coimbra and startups that ensure a strong connection to the university environment, either by students, faculty and R&D activities.Since late 2014, the IPN-Incubadora also hosts the Incubation center of ESA in Portugal (ESA BIC Portugal). The ESA-BIC Portugal, one of the 10 current ESA incubation centers right across Europe, aims to support the creation of innovative companies based on the exploitation of space technologies in terrestrial applications.
