Brief description

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC) is an organic unit of the University of Coimbra. FMUC fosters an environment for constant education and training, through graduated, post-graduated, and professional specialization courses. FMUC relies on excellent clinical and laboratory facilities as well as on a highly skilled and multidisciplinary scientific staff, promoting a multi-disciplinary approach to health sciences. FMUC is an internationally recognized center of excellence for research in health sciences, leading a number of international research programs involving other Universities and Research Centers. The strategic areas of FMUC are Neuroscience, Vision Sciences, Cardiovascular, Cancer and Genetics.
