Short abstract and comments

The creation and development of an innovative pedagogical model that formally addresses healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) prevention and control (the InovSafeCare Model), alongside its intensive dissemination and exploitation, should improve the quality of the current nursing curriculums across the different European settings and contribute to the provision of safe and quality care.

Potential uses/indications

The InovSafeCare Model will help nursing students develop their competences in HCAIs prevention and control, by stimulating critical thinking and decision making, providing them with the necessary high-quality skills to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care that is sensitive to this societal challenge, ensuring that the care provided is safe, efficient and of high quality.
