Short abstract and comments
Collaborative project: Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica (IDMEC-IST). Simulation and analysis of physiological flow, with or without fluid-structure interaction in actual or idealized geometries; parametric CFD study with fluid-structure interaction of the influence of arterial grafts in local hemodynamic parameters; pulse propagation simulation 1Dim the systemic system and analysis of the influence of the mechanical properties of arteries in pressure signals; optimization methodology development of the stent shape. It includes: a) experimental characterization of arterial tissues and stents; b) Use / develop appropriate constitutive laws of arterial tissues; c) CFD Simulation of the fluid-structure interaction; d) Realistic simulation of arterial behavior with / without stent e) Simulation of blood flow during the cardiac cycle f) Optimization of stent features - geometry, materials, etc.
Potential uses/indications
Design optimization of prosthetics and arterial stents.
